Companies use information all the time. Without intellectuals, such companies wouldnt be able to innovate to expand. There is a long history of intellectual scholars being mistreated by bigger entities that have ascertained more support. Is it time that such scholars consider the fact that they should receive royalties for their work? A royalty can be defined as, "a legally binding payment made to an individual or company for the ongoing use of their assets, including copyrighted works, franchises, and natural resources" (Investopedia 2021). Royalties serve to support the reward mechanisim for innovative thinkers, and it is these innovative thinkers that feul capitalisim so that the state can continue its stance within the world in an effort to increase the standard of living of its people.
We propose a theory; theres different types of luminaries- Blooms Taxonomy dictates the cognitive processes. We believe with respect to Blooms Taxonomy that there are 5 types of luminaries in society. The level of intensity of a discovery is measured by its disruptive force on the enviornment.
Therefore, we have;
Level 1- Synthesizers (creators create science)
ex. Antoine-Laurent Lavoisier , Aristotle;
Level 2- Annalyzers (supporters expand science)
ex. Albert Einstein, Steven Hawkings;
Level 3- Applicationists (innovators utilize science)
ex. Jonas Salk;
Level 4- Evaluationists (connectors conect science)
Level 5- Comprehensionists (validators explain science)
ex. Instructors
This then begs the question how is Antoine Laurent Lavoisier different from someone like Steven Hawkings or even an instructor in a University? The instructor uses the information available by other academics to explain his/ her point. Steven uses the information and expands on it in innovative ways. And finally, Antoine comes up with the basis by which all is explained. This then all boils down to the creation of value. This categorizing of these people in a theoretical concept is necessary so it values them appropriately, with which they should receive a reward for their effort.
