PROPAGANDA: RCMP IN SURREY

 

The Municipality of Surrey is considering a new municipal police force which is to replace the RCMP.  The RCMP operates in many districts, regions and provinces.  They have a large network available to them considering.  With a municipal police force, it would mean that access to those other districts, regions and provinces could possibly be reduced.  If the city of Surrey has a police force similar to the municipality of Delta, it would mean more costs at the taxpayers expense.  Further, it would also mean reduced number of personnel tending to the crime which could henceforth increase the crime rates in Surrey.  Surrey is known to have a high crime rate and it has been unanimously labelled in the past as "the crime center" of the country.  The RCMP have worked hard to reduce and deter criminals from crime so that the image of Surrey is enhanced and in that investors are more likely to invest in the city hence resulting in economic stability.  The city of Surrey, is going to be the largest city in the province in a matter of 50 years.  This means an experienced and large task force is necessary to mitigate crime.
